Don't try and quit smoking the same time you're trying to lose weight. Quitting smoking and dieting simultaneously is not always wise. Smoking is a difficult, dangerous habit; and if you quit right away you are going to be tempted to replace your cigarettes with food. Your eating habits could cause you to gain more weight.

If you're trying to practice healthy nutrition, plan meals in advance. Pre-planning your meals will stop any temptations to add any unhealthy choices. Stay with your meal plans. It is ok to switch two days, but don't switch a healthy meal for fast food. Cooking your food can help you burn extra calories.

A good way to lose weight is to eat less. Smaller portions should be practiced at home because people often eat even after they are full if the food is there. This will decrease the amount of food you consume.

Don't be discouraged if the initial exercise and diet plan that you have is not perfect. Try something new and give yourself ample time to see results.  Do not ever give up; you may have to change your lifestyle. Keep your goals realistic. It'll take more than a few days to lose 10 pounds, for example. So this should not be your goal. Why make it impossible? When you lose a pound or two every week, you will eventually reach your target weight over time. Keep at it
